Role of the Special Education Student:

The role of the student with a disability is to learn along side the peer tutor. The special education student is not to let the peer tutor do all of the work, but to do it together so that the learning experience is mutual.

The student with a disability will need to be oriented on how to work with a peer tutor. Both students with disabilities and peer tutors must be taught to show the same respect to each other that they would want to be shown.
